Transition projects are being delivered in no time... and successfully too!
Just like almost everyone else in the Netherlands and far beyond, here at Transition Experts our working days are suddenly looking very different from a few weeks ago. With all our expertise in the online workplace, working from home is no problem for us. But for some of our clients it has posed much more of a challenge, and a large number of changes have had to be made very urgently. So we’d like to tell you a bit more about how the past two weeks have been for us.
Over the past fortnight, we’ve been able to help a range of clients to switch to remote working en masse. This is a highly unusual situation which has called for some very special solutions – solutions that offer good performance but which are still user-friendly, accessible and secure. Existing remote-working solutions have been scaled up for many clients and entire organizations have rapidly become familiar with using Teams and other Office 365 products.
There are some applications that we never thought would work online, but which now are suddenly up and running. It’s surprising what can be achieved under pressure. They say that ‘necessity is the mother of invention’, but in this case it seems that it was the urgency that was missing. We’re seeing a lot of creative solutions, but always within the relevant security, performance and stability parameters.
We’ve brought together experts and partners and have provided the leadership that was required. We’ve seen dedicated and creative IT professionals achieving great results. And we take great pride in that!
And… it’s also been great to see how quickly changes can be implemented when they really need to be. While change projects frequently run into resistance or take a long time to become fully adopted, many users are now demonstrating maximum flexibility. So it’s good to see that people are open to the opportunities that are out there.
Once we have put this period behind us, we will probably realize that we could all be working from home a bit more than we used to. That employees are prepared to be flexible. That certain aspects of the digital transformation can be implemented in quite a simple way (more digital, less paperwork?). And that we, as change managers, are here to look at organizations and transitions with a fresh pair of eyes.
